Role summary:
The Purchase Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement activities of an organization. This role involves developing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that the organization procures high-quality materials and services at the most competitive prices. The Purchase Manager collaborates closely with other departments to understand their needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Key responsibilities and activities include, but is not limited to:
To manage and organize the Purchasing department within ROCKWOOL India.
You will be responsible to develop and implement an economical supply strategy for Raw Materials supply and service requirements throughout ROCKWOOL India. You will work towards achieving supplier management goals, ensuring targets are met or exceeded on an annual basis. You will develop and implement a “Best in Class” procurement management program including professional negotiating and final contract coverage. You will also focus on cost savings ideas, projects and programs that deliver year over year savings and product enhancements. Monitor and report supplier performance as measured by on time performance, quality and cooperativeness.
Should posses strong knowledge of purchasing principles, tendering processes, supplier selection, supplier management, including relationship development with both suppliers and direct reports.
Included within the scope are Raw materials, Spare parts stock, Foil storage, Binder together with the import/export of both materials and products relating to all procurement process.
The department must work within the SHE-Q standards of the ROCKWOOL group in an efficient and proper manner so that ROCKWOOL India at any time fulfil all demands and requirements given by internal and external authorities and local laws.
General job responsibilities
Responsibilities include strategizing to find the most cost-effective deals and suppliers and to
discover the best ways to minimize our procurement expenses.
Procurement of Raw Material / Engineering Spares / Packaging Materials, Service Contracts etc.
Develop & manage procurement strategy, Regional Procurement Bundling, Vendor Mgt,
Co-ordination with Engineering, Production, Stores & QC Departments and Global procurement Team etc.
Responsible for both imports and local purchase.
Market analysis (Supply & demand balance) and market intelligence (competitors, suppliers, etc.)
Provide major Raw Material market trends to management and relevant people every week.
Coordinate customs clearance for imported Raw Materials
Work with Sales, Manufacturing and Engineering team to find new materials and alternate Raw
materials to meet new grade development / grade modification.
Planning inventory level for major Raw Materials under the fluctuated market to save cost.
Negotiate for final purchasing price with vendor.
Manage and maintain supplier and People Management
Excellent computer skills.
Ability to understand the technical aspects of product lines from a procurement
perspective.
