PROCUREMENT LEAD (MUMBAI)
Lead operational procurement activities for a global maritime fleet while supporting the Procurement Manager in delivering service excellence, cost efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction. As a Procurement Lead, you will oversee a team of Procurement Officers, ensuring procurement processes are executed in line with agreed service levels, governance requirements, and operational priorities.
Working closely with Vessel Managers, Technical teams, suppliers, and logistics partners, you will ensure the timely delivery of goods and services, drive continuous improvement initiatives, monitor team performance, and support sourcing and supplier management activities.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Lead to support fleet operations by leading day-to-day procurement activities, managing team performance, and ensuring operational deliverables are achieved.
What You Will Do
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Procurement Officers
Ensure procurement transactions are processed within agreed SLAs
Coordinate with Vessel Managers, Technical teams, suppliers, and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
Monitor team KPIs, performance, and resource planning
Support sourcing, supplier management, negotiations, and cost optimization initiatives
Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, systems, and governance requirements
Drive process improvement and support the Procurement Manager as required
What We Are Looking For
3–5 years of maritime procurement experience with procurement, logistics, or supervisory exposure
Shipping or sailing experience
Degree, Diploma, FE Qualification, or CIPS qualification
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Good understanding of marine procurement, logistics, and supplier management
Experience with BASSnet or similar procurement systems
Results-oriented, analytical, and solution-driven mindset
