Job DescriptionThe Procurement Intern will support the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management activities. This role provides hands-on experience in supply chain operations, supplier coordination, cost analysis, and administrative procurement functions. The intern will gain practical exposure to procurement systems and processes while contributing to day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Track order status and follow up with vendors on deliveries.
- Coordinate with internal team (engineering, project managers, procurement, site supervisors, and shipping) and ensure order deliveries on time
- Compare actual progress vs planned delivery dates, identify risks early and push for corrective actions, help prevent project delays due to late material arrival.
- Regularly follow up with supplier on production progress, shipping dates and potential delays
- Act as the main point of contact between the company and vendors, build vendor relationships to improve responsiveness and reliability, and escalate issues when suppliers fall behind schedule
- Assist in preparing and processing purchase orders.
- Support supplier research, vendor comparisons, and quotation analysis.
- Help maintain supplier databases and procurement records.
- Assist in preparing procurement reports and cost analysis.
- Support contract documentation and filing.
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding purchasing needs.
- Help ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Perform general administrative tasks related to procurement operations.
Hourly Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
The posted hourly rate reflects the compensation the company reasonably expects to offer for this position.
Qualifications- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Basic understanding of procurement or supply chain processes.
