Description
SHINE Technologies is seeking a Procurement Engineer to aid in technical-based procurement activities for the Diagnostics division. The Procurement Engineer will support the identification of vendors to fulfill procurement requirements in accordance with specifications, perform item equivalency reviews, develop purchase orders, and lead receipt inspection activities to support the Chrysalis, and other SHINE-specific projects.
The base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $125,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Procurement Engineer:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Interface with Engineering organization to identify safety functions and use case of items.
- Interface with Engineering to develop receipt inspection criteria for acceptance of items.
- Interface with Commercial Grade Dedication, and Construction organizations to understand how procurement lead times affect testing and installation dates.
- Provide input to project schedule for procurement activities.
- Support development of procurement strategies with Engineering and other Procurement staff, including development of requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Perform receipt inspections for safety-related and non-safety-related items.
- Generate Over, Short, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports as required.
- Generate nonconformance reports as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or other technical field.
- 5 years of experience in engineering or relevant field.
- Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 software.
- Strong leadership and time management skills.
- Ability to develop strong vendor relationships.
- Ability to work accurately and independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Understanding of ASME NQA-1 requirements.
- Understanding in equipment qualification.
- Understanding of nuclear facility principles and operation.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Requires occasional leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.
- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 40 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
- Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
