ABOUT THE POSITION
The Contract Manager is responsible for leading Columbia Sportswear’s procurement contract management function, overseeing contract intake, review, and lifecycle management activities. This role manages a small team responsible for reviewing and maintaining procurement contracts, managing renewals and extensions, and ensuring compliance with company policies and risk management standards. This role is also responsible for executing complex contract review processes, managing renewals, and ensuring compliance with company policies and risk standards. The Contract Manager serves as a subject matter expert for contract governance, providing guidance to stakeholders, and partners closely with sourcing, category management, legal, and business stakeholders to enable efficient and accurate contract execution, mitigate risk, and support strategic sourcing objectives.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Lead and manage the contract management team responsible for intake, review, and recordkeeping of procurement contracts. Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to ensure team success. Oversee contract intake and review processes, ensuring timely and accurate handling of agreements.
Lead the execution of complex contract review processes, including intake, validation, and coordination with legal, outside counsel and business stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure compliance with policies and risk standards.
Monitor contract renewals and extensions, coordinating with category management teams to ensure alignment with category strategies and business objectives.
Develop and maintain contract management processes, tools, and templates to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the contract management function.
Partner with sourcing and category teams to ensure seamless handoffs between sourcing execution and contract finalization. Provide guidance on contract terms and risk mitigation strategies.
YOU HAVE
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or related field preferred.
6–8 years of experience in contract management, procurement, or legal operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management and procurement processes
Strong experience reading and interpreting contract terms, drafting legal language and managing redlines
Familiarity with legal terminology and risk management principles
Experience with contract management systems and procurement platforms
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to lead and develop a team while managing individual projects
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Proven ability to drive process improvement and ensure compliance
Ability to travel up to 10%
