The successful candidate will take full ownership of contract strategy, drafting, negotiation, commercial risk management, and contract administration, working in close partnership with Legal and cross functional stakeholders across development, engineering, construction, finance, and insurance.
This role requires a seasoned contracting professional with deep experience structuring and negotiating EPC agreements. The individual will be a key commercial driver throughout the contract lifecycle, ensuring Repsol secures bankable, execution ready contracts that enable the successful delivery of solar and wind assets across North America.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team and directly influence the success of major renewable projects across the region.
Main accountabilities:
Act as the primary point of contact for all commercial and contractual matters related to solar and wind EPC/BOP packages, from initial strategy through negotiation, execution, administration, and close‑out.
Lead negotiations for complex EPC, BOP, MSA, equipment supply, and service agreements tailored to utility‑scale solar farms, wind farms, and hybrid renewable projects, securing competitive commercial terms and optimal risk allocation.
Draft, review, redline, and manage all contractual documents and exhibits in coordination with Legal and cross‑functional teams, ensuring contract language is aligned with the technical and execution nuances of solar and wind project delivery.
Develop contract strategies, commercial frameworks, and risk‑mitigation approaches tailored to solar PV construction, wind turbine installation, transmission and substation scopes, civil works, electrical balance‑of‑system (EBOS) requirements, and OEM/vendor interfaces.
Maintain deep awareness of project development status, engineering progress, procurement timelines, and construction schedules for solar and wind assets to adjust contracting strategy and negotiation priorities accordingly.
Prepare and deliver management reports and negotiation summaries that clearly articulate risks, contractor positions, and recommended commercial pathways specific to renewable project execution.
Manage all amendments, change orders, and variations, ensuring modifications affecting solar array design, wind turbine layouts, grid interconnection, and construction sequencing are fully aligned with contractual obligations.
Build and sustain strong working relationships with EPC firms, WTG suppliers, solar equipment manufacturers, civil and electrical contractors, and internal technical teams to ensure effective collaboration throughout execution.
Maintain organized and audit‑ready documentation to support internal governance, regulatory needs, and project financing requirements often associated with large‑scale renewable projects.
Perform other related duties that support the successful contracting and execution of utility‑scale solar and wind projects.
Minimum qualifications:
Authorized to work in the USA for any employer without sponsorship.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Law, Contract Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
9+ years of proven experience independently negotiating EPC and complex construction contracts for large‑scale renewable energy projects, specifically utility‑scale solar and wind projects.
Working knowledge of EPC/BOP contracting for Solar PV and Wind projects is preferred, but experience in a similar industry with complex EPC agreements will also be considered.
Understanding of renewable energy industry commercial norms, technical standards, contractor scopes, and construction execution models is highly preferred, but not strictly required.
Experience managing competitive tender processes for EPC and major equipment contracts.
Strong analytical capability and attention to detail, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of technical and commercial data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
