On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and supplier-performance activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an efficient and cost-effective supply chain that supports business continuity, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. The role requires a strategic professional with strong negotiation, planning, leadership, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
- Manage sourcing, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and vendor-performance evaluation.
- Lead demand planning, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and distribution activities.
- Ensure the timely availability of products, equipment, materials, and services.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Negotiate favourable commercial terms while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Monitor stock levels and implement controls to minimise shortages, excess inventory, damage, and obsolescence.
- Manage importation, customs clearance, transportation, and related regulatory requirements.
- Develop procurement policies, approval processes, and supplier-management procedures.
- Monitor supply chain costs and identify opportunities for savings and operational improvement.
- Prepare procurement plans, budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
- Identify supply chain risks and implement appropriate mitigation and business-continuity measures.
- Collaborate with operations, finance, commercial, and technical teams.
- Lead, coach, and develop the procurement and supply chain team.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, organisational policies, and ethical procurement practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIPS, CPSP, or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
- A master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
- At least eight years of progressive experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a managerial or leadership position.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, distribution, or a related operational industry.
