Procurement Analyst

Location: Massillon, Ohio 

Hybrid Work Schedule, Onsite: Tuesday - Thursday

Summary:

The Procurement Analyst, Commodities is responsible for analytical support in the execution of Category strategies and initiatives for food and non-food commodities for use in production for the Shearer’s enterprise.  This role will work closely with the Commodity Procurement team, Finance, Planning, and vendors to deliver accurate reporting to support decision making. 

The Procurement Analyst, Commodities will be based in our Massillon, OH corporate office and report into the Director, Procurement Commodities. 

Responsibilities:

• Commodity Financial Reporting: Own and maintain all commodity reports for accuracy and ensure compliance with established policies. Analyze, troubleshoot, and explain variances to plan.    
• Commodity Position Management: Maintain accurate and reliable commodity contracts and position reports to identify risk and opportunities to our financial plan. 
• Supplier Relationship Management:  Supports Supplier Relationship Management programs by collecting, maintaining, and evaluating supplier records and scorecards. 
• Provides market research and input into the financial sourcing aspects of contracts and calls for tender when information is not readily available.
• Maintain knowledge on various market trends and recommend sourcing strategies for market.
• Administer all performance metrics such as delivery time and price variance.
• Assistance with Request for Quotes, Bid Analysis, Volume Tracking for Rebates and against contracts
• Supports purchasing/sourcing management in activities such as price benchmarking, vendor management, process analysis, market and industry research, and model building
• Develop, implement and use tools and technology for managing and analyzing the supplier portfolio

What You Bring to the Table 

• BS Degree in Finance, Statistics, or Business preferred.
• Detail oriented with demonstrated high level of Microsoft Office especially Excel is a must.  PowerBI experience is a plus. 
• Strong analytical background and ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment. 
• 1-3 years of procurement, commodities, or relevant data analytics is preferred. 
• Ability to work independently and a self-starter. 
• Excellent communication skills: written and verbal.
