Are you excited about building practical AI solutions that solve real business problems?

We’re looking for a Procurement AI Engineer to help shape the next generation of AI-enabled Procurement capabilities. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building, experimenting, and turning ideas into solutions that people actually use.

You’ll work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, data, automation, and Procurement transformation, partnering closely with the Procurement AI Product Owner, Procurement teams, IT, Data Science, and external partners.

Your work could range from developing AI agents and RAG-powered knowledge solutions to creating prototypes, connecting enterprise data sources, and designing intelligent workflows that help Procurement teams identify opportunities, prepare negotiations, improve supplier intelligence, and make faster, smarter decisions.

You don’t need to be a Procurement expert from day one. We’re looking for someone with strong technical foundations, curiosity, and the ability to quickly understand business challenges and translate them into practical AI solutions.

What You’ll Do

Build AI solutions that make an impact

  • Design, build, test, and continuously improve AI agents and AI-enabled workflows supporting real Procurement use cases.
  • Develop proofs of concept, prototypes, and reusable AI components across areas such as supplier and market intelligence, category strategy, opportunity identification, negotiation preparation, guided buying, forecasting, and knowledge retrieval.
  • Work with enterprise AI technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Services, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, or similar platforms.
  • Improve solution quality through prompt engineering, testing, feedback loops, and human-in-the-loop approaches.

Turn Procurement knowledge into intelligent experiences

  • Build AI-powered retrieval solutions using category strategies, supplier information, contracts, market intelligence, ESG data, policies, and forecasting content.
  • Develop and support RAG-based solutions, semantic search, and structured knowledge retrieval.
  • Help ensure AI-generated insights are transparent and reliable by documenting data sources, assumptions, and known limitations.

Connect AI with enterprise data and systems

  • Help integrate AI solutions with platforms and data sources such as Databricks, Spend Cube, SharePoint, SAP, S2P platforms, and approved external sources.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, IT, Data Science, and external partners to evaluate technical feasibility, integration needs, and dependencies.
  • Work with APIs, data pipelines, and enterprise systems to move AI solutions from prototype toward practical business use.

Help bring AI into everyday Procurement

  • Monitor AI solution performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Partner with Procurement subject-matter experts to test and validate outputs.
  • Create clear user guidance, demonstrations, and technical documentation.
  • Support adoption while ensuring solutions align with security, governance, and responsible AI principles.

What You’ll Bring

Technical skills

We’re looking for a strong technical foundation and, just as importantly, the curiosity to keep learning.

Ideally, you have:

  • Hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
  • Interest or experience in AI agents, Generative AI, prompt engineering, RAG, semantic search, or knowledge retrieval.
  • Familiarity with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, or similar enterprise AI platforms.
  • Exposure to Databricks, Spark, APIs, data pipelines, or data integration.
  • An understanding of secure data access, authentication, and enterprise governance.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or Power Platform is a plus.
  • Exposure to SAP, Source-to-Pay platforms, Procurement systems, or workflow tools is helpful, but not essential.

Beyond the Technology

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy translating business challenges into simple, practical technical solutions.
  • Are curious and motivated to learn about Procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management, and procure-to-pay processes.
  • Feel comfortable working with ambiguity, experimenting, and iterating quickly from idea to prototype.
  • Can explain technical concepts clearly to people from different backgrounds.
  • Enjoy collaborating across business, technology, and data teams.
  • Care about whether a solution delivers real business value and user adoption, not just whether the technology works.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, relevant hands-on experience in AI engineering, data engineering, automation, or software development can also provide a strong foundation for this role.

Why This Role?

This is a great opportunity for an early-to-mid career AI or data professional who wants to move beyond experimentation and build AI solutions that solve real business challenges.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with modern AI technologies, collaborate with teams across Procurement, Data Science, and IT, and help shape how AI is used in an enterprise environment.

If you’re a builder who loves AI, data, and solving real-world problems, we’d love to hear from you.
