Processing Operative – Mill Operator
Location: Newton Abbot
Salary: £28,669 (inclusive of shift allowance)
Hours of work: 37.5 per week rotational shift pattern:
Week 1: Monday to Friday - 6am to 2pm
Week 2: Monday to Friday - 2pm to 10pm

The job role:
A processing mill operative is a hands-on role, ensuring that raw materials are converted into final products through precise control of machinery.

Operate and monitor milling machinery to ensure efficient production and quality output

Operating a Forklift in a safe manner

In-line testing to monitor the moisture content of the ball clay
-
Responsible for the startup and shut down of the milling plant
-
Use of other mobile plant equipment – front end loading shovels
-
Meeting production targets
-
Carry out site cleaning and promote good housekeeping practices
-
Follow health and safety guidelines

You will:
Bring motivation, drive and enthusiasm as this is a very hands-on role. In addition, you’ll:

Hold Full and valid UK driving licence
-
Possess a Forklift licence for at least 12 months

Understand health and safety in the workplace
-
Have the willingness to learn and drive other mobile plant equipment (front end loading shovel)

Possess basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills
