THE OPPORTUNITY
The Processing Manager will oversee daily production and operations of our cannabis processing team at our vertically integrated facility. This role will oversee the processing of our cannabis plants while resulting in a high-quality product that is compliant and ready for processing or sale. This role will create and maintain a workplace environment that ensures employee safety, performance, product quality, and upholds FDA and GMP standards. The Processing Manager will adhere to the standard operating procedures and focus on delivering results measured by key performance metrics.
- Become a Subject matter expert in Jushi cannabis processing standards and procedures, wet trimming, and automation for processing, drying, and curing cannabis products
- Be able to input, review, and extrapolate data from our in-house ERP or specified inventory system
- Manage the process of packaging and labeling according to Pennsylvania regulations and Jushi standard operating procedures
- Oversee and maintain GMP sanitary processes and procedures and perform Installation Qualification (IQ)/Operational Qualification (OQ) on GMP equipment
- Knowledge and proficiency in ISO 9000/quality control standards to maintain the integrity of the Jushi products and services
- Responsible to perform Inventory Management of all processing cannabis, final cannabis products, and processing materials
- Management of the green waste process by physically performing the process while ensuring a compliance by tracking and recording all steps.
- Demonstrate proficiency with weights, laboratory measurements, and mathematics and train all team members on proper techniques.
- Assure sections daily compliance with Jushi’s policies including but not limited to: state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, quality and compliance protocols, Safety, and GMP dress code
- Develop Processing Department’s operational plans and schedules to maximize workforce to meet daily, weekly, and monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Coordinate with manufacturing, cultivation, quality, and retail departments to ensure the team is equipped and positioned to meet all production timelines and goals
- Be trained and capable to fill-in within the department as needed to train, enforce quality and compliance standards, and assist with the section workload
- Assist with the development and editing of Processing SOPs, workflows, checklist, and forms
- Responsible for continued improvement plans related to policies and procedures; making recommendations and offering new concepts and ideas to help streamline productivity and cost-efficiency.
- Create a proactive and positive environment where processing employees are challenged to meet as well as exceed production, quality goals, and standards
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Three years of proven supervision and management experience within production, processing, packaging, or horticulture.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and maintain positive relationships with all levels of management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Self-starter/resourceful - able to independently work, learn & plan with minimal guidance to drive tasks to conclusion
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks
- Frequently sitting and standing
- Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally Twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule; May be requested to work additional time, as business demands require
- An environment with moderate to loud noise level
