It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.

Description of Work

The North Carolina Early Intervention Branch (NCEI) is a part of the Division of Child and Family Well Being It is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program (ITP), which provides supports and services for families and their children, birth to three who have developmental delays and/or disabilities. Research shows that birth to three is a critical time frame for working with families to support their competence and confidence as their child’s best teacher because of what we know about brain development.
This early learning offers a window of opportunity to make a positive difference in how a child develops and learns. The Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs), the local lead agencies that implement the ITP across North Carolina, work with local service providers to help families help their children succeed.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide a variety of business and clerical support functions that allow the CDSA to maximize agency revenues, staff efficiency and comply with state and federal requirements. This position serves as a member of a team with shared work responsibilities involving processing of client medical records, data entry into various computer systems and databases and billing. Some work with personnel records and human resource activities.
Although located primarily in Shelby, the position may also provide office support remotely or onsite for satellite locations, assist with facilities management, motor fleet related activities, equipment maintenance and provide support to direct care staff.
This position will provide as-needed assistance in the reception area, which includes greeting clients and answering telephone calls.
