What You’ll Do
As a Process Support Engineer (PSE), you’ll play a key role in guiding products through the entire lifecycle, from initial concept to final qualification. As a PSE, you will optimize product recipes to ensure peak performance tailored to our customer’s needs. You will collaborate with our globally recognized R&D teams and work directly with customers in their fabrication facilities to create cutting-edge solutions. Process Support Engineers work across technologies such as: Chemical Vapor Deposition, Atomic Layer Deposition, Plasma Reactive Ion Etch, Physical Vapor Deposition, Anneal and Implant.

Your journey with Applied begins in our Process Support Engineer Rotational Program where you will experience a blended learning environment and expanded networking opportunities. With rotations in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Texas, and our two R&D innovation centers, the Maydan Technology Center (MTC) located in California and the Materials Engineering Technology Accelerator (META) in New York, you will have the opportunity to gain high-level visibility into the organization and the skills to propel your career as a Process Support Engineer.
The PSE role provides a comprehensive foundation for your career growth. You’ll gain rapid exposure to Applied Materials’ tools and technologies, internal operations, and customer requirements positioning you for future opportunities in technical program management, account management (sales), product and technology development, as well as field service. Role Responsibilities:

Provide high visibility customer support through the performance of on-site installations, system diagnoses, and the service and repair of complex systems and equipment

Working closely with the customer to develop leading-edge processes used to manufacture the most-advanced semiconductor chips, many of which are inside everyday electronic devices

Design both hypothesis experiments and design of experiments (DOE), analyze data with statistics and compile reports with high level conclusions on technically challenging process engineering experiments

Troubleshoot a variety of complex problems, perform multiple root cause analysis, and resolve a variety of difficult process engineering and customer product issues

Communicate with both internal stakeholders and the customer to achieve goals with a focus on building relationships and establishing trust
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Graduating with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
-
Good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

Ability to travel domestically and internationally to various Applied Materials sites and suppliers

Willing to relocate to an account location following graduation from the program

U.S. Salary Range:
$70,000.00 - $95,500.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
