DESCRIPTION

  • Ensures compliance regarding Quality management system for all activities related to the processes.
  • Lead and coach projects to improve product quality through development of targeted, impactful and sustainable improvements in plant operations
  • Utilize Root Cause Analysis tools in nonconformance investigations and corrective action development.
  • Partner with Innovation team to introduce new products into the plant and qualify new raw materials.
  • Perform daily verifications of manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform special tasks or assignments as needed for the department including production tests, data collection, upstream process evaluation.
  • Implement visual tools including 5S, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Statistical Process Controls (SPC) monitoring, and performance metric tracking.
  • Train personnel in continuous improvement and develop and implement operational training materials.
  • Participate in the creation and standardization of job instructions.
  • Lead/participate in scrap reduction teams.

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 + years experience in process or quality engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree in industrial, chemical or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with plastics is desirable.

KEY DELIVERABLES TO DEMONSTRATE SUCCESS IN 12 MONTHS:

  • Drive sustainable improvements in the plant operations
  • Develop and implement basic SOPs for line operation resulting in improved yield and reduced operational downtime
  • Work with process specialist to develop and implement training program on new SOPs
  • Manage QMS as a tool to deliver sustainable improvements in plant operations; assist in building culture of continuous improvement
  • Modify existing QMS to make it more user friendly and available to operators on line.
  • Develop and implement program to ensure quality issues RCA and CA are communicated across all shifts
  • Utilize statistical tools when analyzing data, including improvement tracking

Skills Required

  • At least 2 years of experience in process or quality engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, chemical, or mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action methodologies
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, and management skills
  • Project management and multifunctional team leadership skills
  • Leadership ability and perseverance to complete projects
  • Experience with plastics
