  • Starting pay of $33.97/hr and progression to $38.27/hr within first 120 days There are further opportunities to advance pay upwards of $50.40/hr with our pay for progression system.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Manufacturing careers that offer more: ​As a Process Operator in our Lafayette South Plant (formerly known as Tate & Lyle) you will be responsible for the safe operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting of a highly automated, state of the art system that produces distinctive, high quality ingredients and solutions to the food, beverage, and other industries.

Through our large-scale, efficient manufacturing plants, you will use innovative technology to turn raw materials into distinctive, high quality ingredients for our customers. These ingredients add taste, texture, nutrition and increased functionality to products that millions of people around the world use or consume every day.

Key responsibilities: Process Operator

  • Passionate safety commitment including the belief that all injuries can be prevented

  • Capability to diagnose, operate, correct, and manage the outcomes of complex processing systems (mechanical and chemical)
  • Ability to learn new concepts and information using process procedures, manuals and diagrams
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and information, both written and verbal
  • Ability to teach both technology concepts and operating procedures to other technicians
  • Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures, climb stairs, climb ladders, lift & carry 55 lbs, and perform other physical duties.
  • Knowledge of pumps, compressors, boilers, reactors, centrifuges, filtration and/or evaporation systems a plus.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour days to nights rotating shift schedule in a 365/24/7 operation with the flexibility to work alternate schedules and overtime.

ABOUT YOU

  • Associates degree or higher preferred with minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic mathematics, reading comprehension, and problem-solving skills
