We are now looking for two new colleagues to join the Process Design Team in the UPM Next Generation Technology Unit. Depending on your experience and aspirations, you could join us as a Senior Process Modeling and Simulation Engineer (m/f/d) or a Manager, Process Modeling and Simulation (m/f/d).

What you will do

  • Develop and optimize chemical, fuel, and refining processes based on economic performance and sustainability considerations
  • Focus on modeling our biorefinery, including assessing the impacts of new installations and retrofits
  • Participate in all phases of technology development and investment projects – from early-stage concept development to implementation (e.g. scale-up and scale down)
  • Collaborate with team members and technology partners to ensure modeling is achieved effectively and efficiently

Who you are

  • You have a degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • You bring extensive experience in process design and development, preferably in biorefining, chemical, or process industries
  • You have relevant work experience in Chemical Process Modeling, Analytics, Data Science or related fields
  • You have experience with simulation programs such as gPROMS, ASPEN Plus, CHEMCAD, or HYSYS (including dynamic simulation)
  • You have experience modeling reaction kinetics and thermodynamics
  • You are comfortable with the uncertainties (and excitement!) of technology development
  • You are fluent in English, have strong communication and presentation skills, and are willing to travel as needed

Skills Required
