Overview:

To establish, monitor and update current operating practices by reviewing the effect and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • To investigate current production and quality problems, determine appropriate solutions and make recommendations for correction.

  • To verify quality practices and product reliability both internally and externally.

  • To conduct quality meetings with both operating and quality assurance personnel and initiate and monitor Statistical Process Control programs

  • To assist operations and make recommendations which will increase production or reduce costs.

  • To make recommendations for new or developed technology which will improve quality and/or be cost effective.

  • To maintain appropriate records of programs and comprise technical reports pertaining to quality investigations and activities.

  • To investigate causes of process failure and present findings to senior facility management.

  • Participate in the suspension and operation of the labs to maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 lab standard.

  • To establish, maintain, and monitor standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications:

·         BS in Metallurgy or related field

·         Strong leadership ability

·         Strong problem-solving ability

·         Initiative to work under minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

·         3+ years’ experience in the steel industry.

·         Knowledge of statistical quality control techniques.

·         Advanced understanding of tests performed on steel.
