What You Will Do
The Process & Training Specialist, reporting directly to the NA Training & Improvement Manager, will support start-up sites and existing sites by delivering technical training, audit compliance and manage document control for their respective discipline. Where needed, the EngOps Trainer will conduct candidate Technical Interviews and Technical Assessments to help start-up sites hire qualified individuals.
The Engineering Operations Trainer day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Own and deliver Bot, Peripherals, Robotic Operator course and any courses developed hereafter.
- Design and delivery of effective training for all engineering operations teams as needed.
- Management of quality assurance and audit processes to ensure training is compliant with current legislation, H&S regulations and operational standards.
- Maintain document control over respective areas of responsibility/expertise.
- Maintain an excellent working knowledge of engineering processes & procedures, as well as technical expertise in line with SOPs and SSOWs.
- Support standardization across the regions to ensure consistency and work inline with training governance requirements.
- Manage litmos activity for assigned regional sites and ensure compliance where directed.
- Ensure that EngOps teams have the skills and knowledge to fulfill their role to required safe, competent and efficient standards.
- Ensure all training activities and materials meet the standards set by the US Training Manager and the Senior Engineering Operations leadership team.
- Communicate effectively with all key customers to ensure smooth training delivery.
- Undertake specialist training projects as needed to support operational changes and business growth.
- Adhere to a strict level of confidentiality regarding the information discussed within the training role and ensuring compliance with GDPR.
- Adopt a flexible approach in relation to working hours, location, environment, and task undertaken to fit the needs of the business.
- Perform technical interviews and assessments where needed to help start-up sites.

Who You Are
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience with Ocado at a facility or relevant experience.
- An Associate’s or Vocational degree in electrical or mechanical related discipline or advanced training with a minimum of three years experience preferred.
- A strong understanding of all engineering processes within Ocado.
- Operational knowledge of the main processes within each work area in line with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW’s).
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent relationship building capability with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business.
- Able to resolve conflict.
- Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplined team of varying levels of technical experience
- Able to work with little supervision, keen to adapt quickly and learn new techniques.
- Knowledge / experience of working with controls, analyzing faults and providing solutions.
- Experience of both reactive and preventative maintenance techniques.
- Good technical ability relating to automation hardware and software.
- Must be comfortable working at heights.
- Sound analytical skills with an eye for detail; good problem solving ability and a practical approach.
- Training qualifications are not essential, but the experience of delivering training to colleagues is preferred.
- Numerate and PC proficient including Google Workspace and MS Office.
- Flexible to working a shift-based pattern including nights and weekends as necessary to deliver training.
Physical Activities:
- Ascending or descending ladders and stairs.
- Moving between worksites to accomplish tasks in tight and confined spaces.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for a prolonged period.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
Environmental Conditions:
- Low temperatures and noisy environments.
Location
You will be based at the customer fulfillment center near USA or Canada Location.
