What you will do
As a Process Specialist, Level I, you will review, participate in, and lead two Major Equipment rebuild projects and two Medium Level equipment rebuild projects the Powerframe area, as part of Clarios-Oconee plant’s future vision. In this role, you will manage at least 10 critical vendors in the quoting, contract, timing, purchase order, and scheduling installation. You will be involved in equipment sign-off as per the pre-scheduled downtime for the equipment. This position requires you to maintain the master project schedule, consider contingency plans, and provide daily direction to a Maintenance Technician assigned to the project. You will leverage cross functional resources to support your efforts in ensuring minimized downtime for the new equipment, and exceed project OEE targets.
You will lead efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. You will monitor, track and adjust as required to exceed minimum OEE expectations and maximum downtime expectations.
How you will do it
- Contract management and contingency planning
- Project parallel and series activities, resource balancing, and critical path reporting via timeline roll ups.
- Regular CAPEX updates through entire process.
- Provides training to Powerframe Technicians
- Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans.
- Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers.
- Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
- Drives projects to reduce scrap / dross, downtime and while increase OEE through availability, performance, and speed.
What we look for
Required
- Two year tech degree with a future commitment toward continuing education with a local vocational or online school for additional certifications, for example PMP certification.
- 5 + years of experience in a Powerframe technician role required.
- 5 + experience working equipment vendors, trouble-shooting, RCCA processes, and PDCA processes.
- Must have an understanding of the application of Lean Six Sigma Tools, Maximo, and TPM
Preferred
- Should have good oral/written communication skills and possess strong plant level business acumen.
- Able to speak in public and mentor small teams internally and externally.

Our components plant in West Union, South Carolina produces all the parts that go into batteries used in cars, boats, and heavy-duty trucks. We began operations in 1985 and now employ more than 300 people and operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through The Salvation Army, March of Dimes, back-to-school drives and the Oconee County Animal Shelter.
