Purpose:
The incumbent is responsible for meeting technical requirements for manufacturability at a level of quality that is acceptable for the company and the customer.

Vitro Automotive Glass operates glass manufacturing plants, fabrication facilities and distribution centers worldwide that are solely focused on the production of automotive glass. This scale allows us to provide the quality and technology required for large volume OEM production, while bringing that same attention to detail and quality to our automotive replacement glass (ARG) operations.

Responsibilities:
- Assess product related material properties and their changes and select and handle materials according to their intended use.
- Assess supplies and auxiliary supplies related material properties and their changes and select and handle materials according to their intended use.
- Assign excipients according to their use, use them according to regulations and dispose of them properly.
- Workflows and subtasks in compliance with economic and deadline specifications (Lean Management principles).
- Choose tools and materials.
- Write or revise process-related documents such as P FMEA, Control Plan, work instructions as needed.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop solutions.
- Consider requirements (incl. standards, regulations) for the products to be manufactured.
- Manufacture of products, in particular by processes (like cutting, printing, bending, laminating, VA)
- Assemble and disassemble manufacturing lines according to technical documentation.
- Assign dimensional, shape and position tolerances as well as surface finish and visual appearance.
- Operate control and regulation equipment on machines and systems, taking into account the safety regulations
- Set-up and retrofit production machines and systems according to specifications.
- Set-up and optimize process data.
- Put machines and systems into operation in compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor production processes according to process parameters.
- Identify and eliminate faults and deviations as well as causes.
- Assist securing production processes by intervening in the process chain
- Machines and systems are handed over Information about the production process, production status and changes in the production process, document handover.
- Monitor and ensure material flow in your own work area.
- Detect and Eliminate faults in the material flow and optimizing the material flow.
- Identify causes and quality deviations, initiate corrective measures.
- Assist with analyzing and interpreting technical data with statistical tools and principles.
- Contribute to the financial improvement of work processes in one's own workspace.
- Carry out work in a customer-oriented manner.
- Ensure operational readiness through maintenance and inspection.
- Replace worn parts and/or arrange for them to be replaced.
- Assist, inspect repaired machines and systems for operating properties and put them into operation
Qualifications:
Required:
- This position requires travelling to our various production plants and can be up to 50% travel based.
- Communicate (oral/written) and convince production, different plant areas, plant management, and corporate staff to buy in into the findings, ideas, and/or problem solution proposals for decision making.
- Be a productive team member by leading different groups or teams within a facility or work group using facilitation tools.
- Work in a group environment to solve issues using the appropriate tools and methods. Have Yellow Belt knowledge.
- Solid understanding of risk assessment principles and techniques. Conduct risk assessments independently.
- Identify and evaluate potential risks and hazards in processes and operations.
- Relevant industry standards and regulations related to risk assessment.
- Familiarity with product development processes.
- Proven ability to build and maintain a network of suppliers.
- Conduct effective supplier negotiations to obtain favorable terms and gain access to valuable information.
- Utilize various communication channels, such as emails, phone calls, and meetings, to establish strong connections with suppliers.
Software Skills:
- The incumbent must be proficient in the Microsoft office suite of products: EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project as well as have a strong understanding of APQP/TS systems.
