JOB OVERVIEW
This position will typically be working in a team environment helping to identify, evaluate, and support efforts to resolve manufacturing issues in the daily production processes. Optimization and troubleshooting of existing processes. Supports engineering activities in the design and implementation of process improvements and the technical transfer of new products from research and development to product commercialization.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Engineers and Manufacturing in efforts to troubleshoot the manufacturing processes in Mexico, United States and Asia.
- Qualify new processes and products with suppliers to ensure global awareness and compliance with procedures and specifications.
- Lead the Customization efforts for new product launch and new customization options.
- Collaborate with suppliers in problem solving and methods for improving product quality, design, and manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical knowledge to continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing productivity and yields.
- Assist in the identification of new materials, methods, and tools to improve current processes and/or equipment.
- Understanding production processes to identify the key process parameters related to yield and product performance.
- Support the execution of studies to stabilize, characterize, and optimize key process parameters.
- Maintain and update manufacturing documentation as required.
- Assist Manufacturing in the training of operators, technicians, and supervisors as needed.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Proficient with MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
- Experience with Gloves, Golf Bag, Travel Gear or Lifestyle products (i.e., backpacks or luggage) is a plus.
- Experience with customization methods (Embroidery, Heat Transfer, Printing, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with 3D CAD is a plus.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic tools and instrumentation.
- Able to read and interpret instructions, procedures, etc.
- Be a team player with good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be flexible and able to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
- Able to work extended hours in critical situations.
- Highly energetic, creative, intelligent, and logical.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
- General knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience demonstrating skills in the above duties.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)
- Domestic and International business travel is required for up to 30% of the time.
- Work is performed in a designated professional office workstation and environment.
- Extensive use of office equipment to include computer, calculator, copier, fax, and other business-related machines and software.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, regularly lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds and perform moderately demanding physical tasks.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Is occasionally in a climate controlled office environment where the sound level is quiet.
