Scope:

The Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring robust, efficient, and compliant manufacturing processes that support high product quality and continuous improvement. This role leads root cause investigations and implements containment, corrective, and preventive actions for customer complaints; supports New Product Introduction (NPI); and helps maintain ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems through internal audits and external audit support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead root cause investigation, containment actions, and corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints to ensure timely resolution and recurrence prevention (8D, CAPA).
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) activities and ensure product manufacturability through DFM/DFA principles.
  • Participate in maintaining and updating the ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with all standard requirements and internal procedures.
  • Conduct internal (ISO, IATF, Process) system audits across all departments, documenting findings and verifying the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support external ISO and IATF surveillance audits and recertification.
  • Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs, WI, Control Plans, PFMEA a plus).
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on ISO 9001 requirements, nonconformance handling, SOPs, WI, etc.
  • Identify drivers of scrap and rework, lead investigations, and implement corrective actions to reduce waste and improve process yield.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams in troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and increase product quality.
  • Participate in Management of Change (MoC) processes to ensure that all modifications to equipment, processes, materials or procedures are evaluated, approved, communicated, and implemented safely and effectively.
  • Possess a strong sense of ownership and ability to be a self-starter to take the initiative to start new and move current projects forward.
  • Be a role model in the plant ensuring to promote a safe working environment while supporting compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in quality, process, manufacturing or other related engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or industry equivalent).
  • Proven experience conducting internal audits in accordance with ISO standards, including planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up of corrective actions.
  • Can demonstrate proficiency in quality tools such as Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred:

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
  • Strong background in manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (ETQ, Reliance, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Experience with statistical analysis and use of tools such as Minitab or JMP.
  • Proficiency in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, and other statistical tools.
