A Process Engineer plays a key role in developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production of chemical products. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, enhance process reliability, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Based at our Florence, Kentucky site, this role reports to the Senior Engineering/Maintenance Manager and works closely with the Engineering team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Process Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

•  Design, implement, and improve bottling and packaging processes to increase throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

•  Analyze process deviations, identify root causes, and apply corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues.
•  Develop and maintain process documentation, including flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
•  Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA) and internal quality requirements.
•  Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to drive waste reduction, cost savings, and process efficiency.
•  Collaborate with production, quality assurance, maintenance, and corporate teams to align processes with business goals.
•  Oversee equipment installation, validation, and recommend automation solutions to optimize manufacturing operations.
 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in process engineering, preferably within chemical manufacturing or product bottling

  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA), quality standards (ISO, GMP), and process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen

Highly Preferred

  • Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

The Process Engineer is required to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation:

•  Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE use (contact lenses prohibited on the production floor).
•  Stand, walk, bend, and stretch for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
•  Tolerate typical manufacturing environment conditions, including odors.
•  Use strong quantitative skills and effective communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
•  Adapt to shifting priorities and schedules, including different shifts, with a focus on continuous improvement.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $91,800.00 and $153,100.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
