Huntsman is seeking a Process Engineer located in Arlington, Texas. This position will report to the Plant Director.
Job Scope
The facility Process Engineer directs process standardization, automation and improvement for the Huntsman Building Solutions Facility.
As the Process Engineer you will:
- Active, vocal participant and advocate for the facility safety culture. Act as an enthusiastic leader to ensure the safety of all facility employees.
- Member of Facility Leadership team, working together to achieve plant level KPI.
- Conducting research to develop and streamline processes for manufacturing.
- Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Conducting inspections and identifying potential hazards. Devise and execute solutions to remove workplace hazards.
- Implement a behavioral based safety culture and processes that will include 5S.
- Designing and planning equipment layout.
- Developing routines and best practices to ensure product quality.
- Keeping abreast of the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Works with all plant functions to generate and maintain appropriate process documents and standard operating procedures. Drives MOC process as needed to address all plant activities.
- Estimating production costs.
- Lead and assist maintenance in resolving equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot process problems, and organize and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
- Performing optimization tests.
- Results-oriented problem solver in an ever-changing environment with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Utilizes process simulation software to test and find the most appropriate production strategies.
- Active leader in facility operations excellence objectives.
- Drives facility automation and data acquisition strategies.
- Works with leadership team to develop and monitor the capital and expense budgets.
- Various duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
You must possess ALL the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of experience with standard operating procedures.
- 7+ years of experience with PLC driven operations.
- 7+ years of experience in batch chemical blending operations.
- 7+ years of applicable experience in EHS standards related to specialty chemical manufacturing.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to lead and teach process improvement culture.
- Ability to develop and conduct training programs related to general manufacturing processes for the facility workforce.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels of the business organization and plant.
- Advanced knowledge of production machinery and processes.
- General familiarity with applicable EHS standards related to specialty chemical manufacturing.
- The ability to read and interpret safety data sheets.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Typical manufacturing environment.
- Working with dangerous chemicals
- Position is on site, in person.
- Be able to lift 50 + lbs on a continuous basis, must be able to make repetitive movements for a long period of time, walking, standing, able to wear a breathing mask, able to work around chemicals, walking up and downstairs, lift items overhead, bending
