Mid-Level Process Engineer

The Process Engineer will be part of a team of engineers in the design phase of projects. Additionally, you will perform and formally document Process Engineering calculations.

Work Location:

This position is designed to support either in-office or remote work, with a strong preference for the successful candidate to work from Amentum's office in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Employees who reside within 50 miles of Oak Ridge will be expected to work from the Oak Ridge office. Employees who live more than 50 miles away are eligible for a remote work arrangement; however, remote employees must travel to the Oak Ridge office on a quarterly basis. Those working remotely are required to maintain a company-approved secure workspace that meets all client security requirements and is located within the United States. This U.S.-based secure work location requirement applies to all projects associated with the position.

Qualifications

• 7 or more years of experience
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university program
• Licensed Professional Chemical Engineer with ability to obtain licensure in TN
• Process Equipment specifications
• Experience in Project Engineering and Nuclear Engineering

 Preferred Experience Includes

•  Nuclear material processing
• Q clearance or eligibility to obtain a “Q”
• Uranium processing experience
• Prefer someone already residing near the Oak Ridge, TN area
• Experience managing the work of other engineers and/or designers
• MS in Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university program

Essential Functions:

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity. We help prepare people for new opportunities and challenges.
