What You’ll Do
Applied Materials is seeking a skilled Process Engineer with hands-on experience in lithography process to join our Digital Lithography Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lithography and photomask design. Demonstrates higher level knowledge and skills within own discipline. Solves varied and moderately complex problems. Exhibits knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services. Works independently, receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and maintain processes for advanced lithography application.

Design and develop photomasks using CAD SW such as KLayout, ensuring high precision and quality.

Design, collect data, analyze, and compile reports on moderately difficult process engineering experiments, within safety guidelines.

Implement and validate new lithography techniques and technologies.

Perform hardware characterization on moderately difficult systems, within safety guidelines.

Troubleshoot moderately complex problems, perform Root Cause Analysis, and resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues.

Measure film properties, organize data/reports for review and interpret data.

Interact with customers to resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues/problems under general supervision.

Identify, select, and work with vendors and suppliers under general supervision.

Implement new technology, products, and analytical instrumentation.

Document process specifications, procedures, and best practices
Qualifications:

PhD or Master's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or a related field.

New college graduate or 1-2 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience with advanced lithography techniques and technologies, especially in micro fabrication lab environment.

Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes.

Knowledge of designing masks; Proficiency in KLayout and ODB++

Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools

Knowledge of process control and statistical process control (SPC) methodologies.

U.S. Salary Range:
$96,000.00 - $132,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
