Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Process Engineer – Level 3 to join our team in Devens, MA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

   

AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. Our talented team of engineers, managers and technologists conceive, design, develop and manufacture high precision products in an environment that requires significant collaboration and teamwork among multiple engineering disciplines. The role will report directly to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In this job, you will:

  • Design and validate new processes and fixtures, and plan sequence of operations for the manufacture of ceramic devices

  • Create manufacturing engineering documentation

  • Provide technical guidance to the production process operators pertaining to training, failure analysis, process methodology, corrective action, and continuous improvement.

  • Troubleshoot production hardware to determine root cause of failures/defects followed by identifying and implementing both interim and permanent corrective actions.

  • Create and analyze metrics to target cost and efficiency improvements.

  • Apply continuous improvement techniques to drive down costs and improve production efficiency.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (STEM discipline ) with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience.   

  • No clearance required to start

  • Experience in manufacturing process development, fixture design, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

  • Experience working with mechanical drawings and GD&T fundamentals.

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Lean Six Sigma Training

  • Experience working with CAD software.

  • Experience with Microsoft Project.

  • Experience in manufacturing process development, fixture design, and troubleshooting.

Working Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.

  • Flexibility to changing environment.

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
