Job Summary

Avantor is seeking an Manufacturing Process Engineer who will be responsible for process improvement projects, and capital projects ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost.

This role will be a full-time position based out of our Carpinteria, CA office. You will have the opportunity to implement process improvements to meet quality standards, perform feasibility studies, and solve problems. This position is involved in implementing step-change process improvements.

What we’re looking for: 

• Education: bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
• Experience: Prefer 1-2 years of experience in chemical or material processing including internships/co-op
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, detail oriented, and flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of production processes in a chemical or mechanical engineering environment

How you will thrive and create an impact: 

• Lead new Packaging continuous improvement efforts, validating processing parameters, evaluating inputs, testing process repeatability/reproducibility in an ISO9001, AS9100, ITAR environment.
• Identify new equipment and technologies to support next generation silicone processing and continuous improvement of existing processes.
• Design, validate and commission new production equipment and tooling, monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing processes.
• Develop project budgets and business cases associated with the procurement of new equipment and technologies.
• Interact with customers, internal team members and vendors to develop process and equipment specifications. Prepares qualification reports, flow diagrams, and charts on research data and information.
• Development and utilization of key reliability metrics to consistently measure performance.
• Contribute to long-range planning for the facility and equipment needs, including capital expenditures.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$66,100.00 - $110,200.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
