The Role
Designs and optimizes scalable manufacturing processes for electromechanical enclosures, panel wiring, potting, and conformal coating. Leads new product introduction from prototyping through mass production, performs DFM/DFA reviews, and specifies tooling, fixtures, and workstation layouts. Resolves assembly defects through root-cause analysis, tracks yield, implements error-proofing, and maintains compliance with manufacturing, quality, safety, and electromagnetic standards. Documents routings, process flows, SOPs, takt times, and cycle times while coordinating assembly, wiring, and functional testing.
Summary Generated by Built In

·  Process Development & Optimization: Design scalable, repeatable manufacturing processes for electro mechanical enclosures, panel wiring, potting, and conformal coating. Develop routings, process flows, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

·  NPI (New Product Introduction): Lead the transition of products from the prototyping phase (EVT/DVT/PVT) to full-scale mass production.

·  Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFA): Review BOMs, engineering drawings, and schematics early in the design cycle to prevent assembly bottlenecks and reduce production costs.

·  Tooling & Fixture Design: Specify, design, and procure custom assembly jigs, test fixtures, and workstation layouts to optimize ergonomics and manufacturing Takt time.

·  Quality Control & Root Cause Analysis: Utilize problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa,Six sigma) to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve assembly defects. Track First Pass Yield (FPY) and implement error-proofing (Poka-Yoke).

·  Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all builds meet strict industry standards such as IPC-A-610, ESD, and ISO 9001/IATF 16949 requirements

Requirements
  • Assembly Technologies: Expertise in wire harness routing, soldering, potting, and testing
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Ability to evaluate CAD models and physical layouts so devices can be easily and cost-effectively assembled at mass scale.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Knowledge of End-of-Line (EOL) testers,Robotic Soldering and failure root-cause analysis (e.g., 5-Why, Ishikawa, 8D).
  • Process Documentation: Proficiency in defining Takt times, calculating cycle times, and writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Software Tools: Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD tools (like AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and SAP

  • Benefits
  • Increased Production Yields: Engineers resolve bottlenecks, reducing component scrap and optimizing assembly cycles.
  • Defect Reduction & Rework: They use root-cause analysis to address failures early, ensuring compliance with UL, CE, and EMI/EMC standards.
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Engineers provide feedback to simplify designs, lowering overall material and labor costs.
  • Scalability: They help transition new products smoothly from prototyping to full-scale mass production (NPI).
  • Turnkey Efficiency: They coordinate mechanical assembly, cable wiring, and functional testing into a single continuous workflow.

  • Skills Required

    • Expertise in wire harness routing, soldering, potting, and testing
    • Ability to evaluate CAD models and physical layouts for cost-effective mass assembly
    • Knowledge of end-of-line testers, robotic soldering, and failure root-cause analysis using 5-Why, Ishikawa, and 8D
    • Proficiency defining takt times, calculating cycle times, and writing standard operating procedures
    • Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
    • Familiarity with SAP
