About the Job:
The Scribe Development team is responsible for designing test structures for components which provide electrical and physical quality information to process development and manufacturing teams. The scribe engineer is responsible for developing the component test structures in conjunction with the process integration engineer, fab engineer, scribe build engineer, and layout designer. The engineer will be exposed to a variety of technologies and components from deep-submicron and analog CMOS to RF heterojunction bipolar and high-voltage SOI BiCMOS to Power BiCMOS/DMOS. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with many teams within Analog Technology Development organization and beyond, including the process integration/development, layout, device characterization, fabrication, and scribe build teams.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and documenting test structures to be instituted into silicon
- Build automated scripts and/or programs to organize information
- Pursue new ways to improve test structure design and verification methods
- Identify opportunities to streamline the scribe development flow through scripting and/or developing standards
- Identify potential opportunities of improvement
- Participate in technical meetings when needed and develop new opportunities or new approaches that the scribe team can use in the future
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physics, or related degree
Minimum of 2 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with basic semiconductor electrical fundamentals (through coursework or employment)
- Familiarity with basic semiconductor device characterization (through coursework or employment)
- Experience or exposure to computers, scripting, Microsoft tools (Excel)
- Experience and proficiency in the following areas: Design environment (schematic & layout, Cadence preferred); basic programming experience with PERL, TCL/TK, C, Ruby, SKILL, and Unix Shell; and an aptitude for running various software scripts and utilities.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to balance multiple critical path and time sensitive jobs on a regular basis.
