Regeneron's Preclinical Manufacturing & Process Development group (PMPD), located in Tarrytown NY, is seeking an energetic Process Development Engineer II as a full-time position to work in the Purification Development group.
In this role, you will accelerate early-stage medicine development and scientific understanding, developing speed-to-clinic processes. This involves developing scalable downstream unit operations through bench and pilot scale experiments to transfer technical process knowledge for manufacturing.
A Typical Day in the Role of Process Development Engineer II Might Look Like:

Perform process development for clinical processes through bench scale and pilot scale experiments

Document experiments, results, and findings in electronic laboratory notebook

Maintain instruments and tackle instrumental/experimental problems

Development or onboarding of new technology and automation to increase process throughput and efficiency of preclinical manufacturing; support of improvement initiatives

Presents work at group, department, or cross-functional meetings

Skillfully write and review technical documents, including complex and external documents

Collaborate within PMPD and with functionally related groups across Regeneron

The role requires a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in either Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Biochemistry, with 5-7+ (Bachelor’s) or 3-5+ years (Masters) experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. Must have experience in industrial protein purification (utilizing techniques such as chromatography, ultrafiltration/diafiltration, depth filtration, membrane technologies etc.) and tech transfer principles. Experience with Downstream Development and with equipment like: Akta Avant, Akta Pilot, Akta Process Skid, Disc Stack Centrifuge, Tangential flow filters, Normal flow filters, Chromatographic columns, HPLC, UPLC, Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration skid, Laminar Flow Hood, Chemical Fume hood a plus. Comfort with statistics fundamentals, Quality by Design, and software such as Empower, Unicorn, LIMS, JMP is a plus. Experience with automation or software programming a plus.
