About this opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Problem Manager to own and drive root-cause and preventive actions across our Core Network (CS Core & Packet Core) and Core Network Infrastructure. The role will lead RCA and trend analysis for major and recurring incidents, coordinate resolution across operations, vendors and engineering, and deliver continuous service improvements to enhance network stability and customer experience.
What you will do
- Own the end-to-end Problem Management lifecycle for Core Network domains (CS Core & Packet Core).
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major and recurring incidents and ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented.
- Coordinate cross-functional resolution activities with L2/L3 operations, engineering teams, vendors and external stakeholders.
- Track and analyze incident trends, identify systemic issues, and propose preventive measures and service improvement plans.
- Ensure problem resolution and follow-up activities meet agreed SLAs and OLAs.
- Drive preventive and corrective maintenance initiatives to reduce incident recurrence.
- Review and validate network changes to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Perform network configuration audits and support initiatives to improve service stability.
- Produce and maintain problem records, knowledge articles, runbooks and best-practice documentation.
- Lead post-incident reviews and major incident follow-ups; drive remedial projects where necessary.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to L2 operations engineers to ensure consistent processes and high-quality outputs.
- Maintain dashboards, KPIs and management updates for problem reporting and status tracking.
- Support continuous improvement and operational excellence programs.
You will bring
- 7-14 years' experience in Telecommunications, with 5-8 years of strong domain experience in CS Core and/or Packet Core.
- Solid knowledge of ITIL Problem Management processes and operational best practices.
- Clear understanding of 3GPP standards and signaling/protocols including SIP, Diameter, BICC, SIGTRAN, CAMEL, MAP, etc.
- Strong understanding of 2G/3G/4G core network nodes, protocols and signalling flows.
- In-depth experience with voice core scenarios and signaling flows.
- In-depth experience with data/core packet scenarios and signaling flows.
- Hands-on experience with voice core nodes (e.g., MSC, MGW, STP, UDC, APG).
- Strong knowledge of packet core nodes (SGSN/MME, GGSN/EPG, SAPC/PCRF) and surrounding nodes (IMS, DNS, charging systems).
- Familiarity with roaming call/data flows and GRX architecture.
- Understanding of IMS call flows and 5G (NSA & SA) architectures and call flows.
- Excellent IP networking background and MPBN knowledge.
- Strong Linux skills and familiarity with virtualization, cloud NFVI/NFVO and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and presentation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management, written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to lead complex cross-functional problem resolution.
