The Proactive Threat Operations Team Lead develops, implements, and supervises comprehensive cyber threat intelligence, vulnerability analysis, and proactive threat hunting programs.

  • Develop and Implement Cyber Threat Initiatives: Create and maintain cyber threat management policies and procedures aligned with industry standards. Validate and report on cybersecurity best practices are implemented across the organization. Integrate cyber threat initiatives and changes with corporate security departments and relevant units.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and provide guidance on potential cyber threats. Monitor global cyber events to adapt security strategies and provide timely alerts. Develop and implement response plans for cyber-related incidents.
  • Intelligence Analysis: Gather, analyze, and interpret intelligence from multiple sources to identify potential threats. Produce detailed intelligence reports and threat assessments for decision-makers. Collaborate with intelligence analysts to support operational units and strategic planning.
  • Vulnerability Management: Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments and prioritize findings based on risk and impact. Disseminate findings with internal teams to ensure timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities. Develop and maintain processes for effective vulnerability management.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with SOC, security managers, IT teams, and other collaborators to ensure a cohesive cyber threat strategy. Provide training and resources to employees on cyber threat intelligence and security practices. Serve as the primary point of contact for cyber-related emergencies, offering support and leading crisis management efforts.
  • Policy and Strategy Development: Develop strategic policies and programs for cyber threat management aligned with Aon objectives. Contribute to use cases and requirements with security service providers and vendors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of cyber threat intelligence and security programs based on emerging threats and industry changes. Stay updated with the latest advancements in cyber threat activity, threat hunting, and intelligence analysis. Conduct regular assessments to identify areas for program enhancement.

  • Proven experience in cyber threat intelligence, security operations, or threat hunting.
  • Previous leadership experience in leading cybersecurity or intelligence teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Including data analysis and intelligence gathering tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies effectively.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity guidelines and legal compliance.
  • Relevant certifications in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, or threat hunting are advantageous.

EducationBachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Intelligence Studies, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $180,000 to $230,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
