About the Role
The Materials Manager is responsible for purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, distribution of supplies and medical equipment.
POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs and coordinates material management functions.
- Manages purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment.
- Maintain materials accountability systems to support hospital.
- Accountable for all medical supply/services spend and resultant financial results with respect to budget/forecasting/targets.
- Accountable for direct reports and their productivity.
- Accountable for building and maintaining relationships with peer department heads and administrative leadership teams.
- Represents Supply Chain in various committees and meetings.
- Directs product conversion efforts.
- Accountable for meeting Supply Chain measures of success related to spend/inventory/HR/customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for continuous improvement of material flow, utilization analysis and supply chain optimization.
- Charged to continually develop hospital identified savings prospects and exploit known opportunities.
- Set clear goals and expectations; provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
- Develop talent through mentoring, training, and career development initiatives.
- Promote a collaborative and engaging work environment that aligns with company values.
- Manage conflict and make timely decisions to maintain team focus and performance.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and development conversations.
- Approve timecards, schedules, time-off requests, and other administrative HR functions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and safety regulations.
- Other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree Business Administration or related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
- Bachelors’ Degree Business Administration preferred.
- A minimum five years’ experience in a Materials Management supervisory capacity.
