We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate PRN Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while providing expert guidance to patients and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to optimize treatment outcomes and promote overall wellness within our community.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders,detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
- Dispenses medications bypackaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies;advising interventions.
- Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians'workflow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals,counseling patients on drug therapies.
- Develops clinic staff's pharmacological knowledge byparticipatingin clinical programs,training pharmacy staff, students, interns, and health care professionals.
- Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory; supervising the work results of support staff; maintaining current registration; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; advising management on needed actions.
- Understand and properly enter pertinent information into a patient’s record.
- Maintain compliance with EMR documentation, forms, and system navigation.
- Protect patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
- Maintains a safeand clean working environment bycomplying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops,reviewing professional publications;establishing personal networks.
- Participates in all safety programs, which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)required.
- Licensure– Passing national and/or state exams (e.g., NAPLEX) and fulfilling any other local requirements to become a licensed pharmacist.
- Active Florida PharmacyLicense
- To renew the Florida Pharmacy License, completion of required continuing education is necessary every two years.
- Internships/Clinical Rotations– Hands-on training during pharmacy school, where students gain experience in real-world settings under supervision.
- Work Experience– Working as a pharmacist in various settings (e.g., hospitals, retail pharmacies) helps build practical skills and knowledge.

Skills Required
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
- Licensed pharmacist: passing national/state exams (e.g., NAPLEX) and meeting local licensure requirements

- Ability to follow infection-control protocols and maintain a safe work environment
- Willingness to work variable PRN schedule including days, nights, and weekends
