Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.  Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.

Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. Although based out of Nashville, we serve several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis.

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) PRN

Job Summary: The Medical Operations Registered Nurse (RN) supports licensed physician or advanced practice nurse, as well as overall treatment team, in providing care to clinic Consumers.

Location: 1078 S Water Ave, Gallatin, TN 37066
 

Schedule: Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30p

Compensation: $32-$38 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Nursing assessments and prepare consumer for clinic visit.
2. Interpret, process, and implement provider’s orders.
3. Advocate for consumers and participate in on-going evaluation of consumer’s progress towards treatment goals within the clinic setting.
4. Maintain Perform consumer records for smooth, accurate, and safe implementation of medication orders; including ordering prescribed medications form designated pharmacy for timely dispensing.
5. Participate in the multidisciplinary treatment team meetings as required.
6. Provides general guidance and health education to individual Consumers and family members.
7. Completes clinical documentation in a timely manner that is consistent with agency standards.
8. Proficient in electronic health record.
9. Conduct assessments with consumers in the community (home, day treatment program, etc.) to provide continuity of care in the physical and/or psychological domain.
10. Provide nursing coverage for other clinic locations and departments on a PRN basis.
11. Work collaboratively with community providers to provide integrated, whole-person care for consumers and address medical and treatment needs.
12. Comply with the requirements of applicable regulations, laws, rules, procedure, policies, standards and/or grant.
13. Take appropriate action to Use de-escalation techniques to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations.
14. Obtains releases from PCPs, specialists, other treatment facilities, ER visits, and hospitalizations, as needed, for Consumer care.
15. Complete Prior Authorizations and Attestations for treatment medications.
16. Perform rescue functions during emergencies to include administering basic emergency medical aid and evacuating people to safe locations.
17. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with interdisciplinary teams.
18. Demonstrate professional demeanor in all settings.
19. Demonstrate proficiency in labs, injections, glucometer, UDS testing and pregnancy testing.
20. Remain flexible and positive to changing needs.
21. Make customer service a priority with internal and external customers.
22. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
23. Follow-up with consumer’s regarding lab results as outlined in company procedures.
24. Make customer service a priority with internal and external customers.
25. Establish rapport with consumers.
26. Systematically gather data necessary in treatment of consumer.
27. Access and assist with determining the readiness of the individual for treatment and change.
28. Screen for substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms as needed
29. Analyze and interpret UDS and pregnancy test results. Other Responsibilities:
 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Tennessee Registered Nurse license

  • Phlebotomy skills and ability to give injections

  • Cross-train in all areas of Medical Operations

  • Valid Tennessee Driver’s License

  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

  • Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation

  • Personal Automobile Insurance
