Healix Infusion Care is seeking a PRN Infusion Nurse to administer patient care services at our Infusion Center located in State College, PA.

 

As an Infusion Nurse, you will have the opportunity to provide clinical services in a multi-specialty infusion center – providing therapy to patients with conditions in the neurological, gastroenterology, rheumatology, cardiology, or allergy/asthma specialties, and more.

The ideal nurse must have the ability to manage and provide care for multiple patients simultaneously in a fast-paced clinical environment. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment delivering infusion therapy to patients using advanced technology in an entrepreneurial setting.

 

Infusion Nurses are partners in patient care with the community providers placing infusion orders for their patients, our Nurse Practitioners, and Medical Director.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of medication to be administered to patients in an infusion center setting.
  • Provides infused and injectable medications to scheduled patients
  • Accessing PICC lines and port-a-cath's for medication administration and maintenance.
  • Patient and caregiver education regarding infusion drug therapy information.
  • Clinical monitoring of patient treatment, progression, safety, and outcomes.
  • Communicating care with ordering provider and staff, Healix Nurse Practitioner, in-center staff, and regional operations manager, as required to ensure patients receive the highest level of care.
  • Assist with onsite nursing functions including patient scheduling, daily service charting, inventory management, and coordination of follow-up care with ordering providers and Healix Nurse Practitioner, as required.
  • Ability to work autonomously

Qualifications

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in nursing (ADN).
  • 2+ years’ experience working as a registered nurse in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Critical care or outpatient/homecare infusion experience preferred.
  • Recent intravenous administration and catheter management experience.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills is a must to ensure nursing professional meet our expectations.
  • Ability to work independently at the site location, and in-partnership with the in-center staff, and regional leadership

 

 LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • State Board of Nursing Licensed; active and unencumbered.
  • Must possess valid basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • CRNI, VA-BC, OCN preferred.
