Job Summary: The Private Sector Partnership Manager (Soy / Nacala Corridor) will lead engagement with soy market actors, processors, aggregators, commercial farmers, input suppliers, financial institutions, and service providers across the Nacala Corridor. The role will support development of commercially viable and climate-smart soy market systems linked to regenerative agriculture, aggregation, processing, and domestic market growth.
The Manager will facilitate strategic partnerships and co-investment arrangements that strengthen supply chains, improve farmer market access, and expand opportunities for sustainable processing and value addition.
Program Overview: Green Value for Growth (GV4G) is a five-year European Union (EU) Global Gateway initiative supporting Mozambique to build a greener, more competitive, and climate-resilient agribusiness sector. The program focuses on transforming the soy, cashew, and coffee value chains in Central and Northern Mozambique through private-sector–led investment, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, expanded local processing, and stronger market systems. By 2031, GV4G aims to mobilize approximately €26.8 million in public and private investment and benefit more than 44,000 farmers, enterprises, and commercial farm businesses while strengthening compliance with EU market requirements.
GV4G is executed by a consortium and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) serves as the EU’s delegated implementing partner for this Action.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage partnerships with soy processors, aggregators, commercial farms, input suppliers, mechanization providers, and financial institutions.
- Support development of inclusive sourcing and outgrower models linked to regenerative agriculture.
- Identify and facilitate commercial opportunities for processing, aggregation, and market expansion.
- Support anchor firms to strengthen supply chain systems, sourcing relationships, and farmer engagement.
- Coordinate co-investment arrangements and partnership agreements.
- Facilitate linkages between producer groups, SMEs, and commercial buyers.
- Conduct market assessments and identify bottlenecks in the soy value chain.
- Work with agronomy and enterprise teams to improve production, quality, traceability, and commercialization.
- Promote climate-smart and regenerative agriculture practices across partner networks.
- Support market systems coordination and engagement with sector associations and corridor stakeholders.
- Contribute to programme reporting, learning, and adaptive management.
- Represent GV4G in local private sector and agricultural coordination forums.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years experience, Master's Degree with 5+ years experience in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Economics, Business Administration, Rural Development, or related field.
- Experience in agricultural value chains, agribusiness partnerships, market systems development, or private sector engagement.
- Experience working with soy, oilseeds, commercial farming, or agro-processing sectors.
- Demonstrated experience managing private sector partnerships and commercial relationships.
- Experience working with farmers, cooperatives, SMEs, and agribusiness companies.
- Familiarity with the Nacala Corridor agricultural ecosystem is preferred.
Required Languages: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, including fluency in Portuguese and working knowledge of English.
Travel: Up to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with regenerative agriculture, mechanization, or aggregation systems.
- Experience in donor-funded market systems programmes.
- Existing relationships with agribusinesses and financial institutions in Northern Mozambique.
- Understanding of soy processing, feed markets, and edible oil markets.
