What is the key purpose of a Privacy Counsel? 

As a Privacy Counsel working on our global Legal team, your focus will be the U.S. market, and will be responsible for maintaining and further developing Taboola’s privacy program and advising on best practices that enable Taboola to meet increasingly complex and ever-changing privacy laws and regulatory requirements.  You will engage with sales and product teams and collaborate with your fellow team members to help drive Taboola’s success.

What skills and qualifications do I need?

For this role, we would like to see:

• 3+ years of significant experience directly in privacy.
• Experience with global data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, etc.)
• Commercially minded and able to give pragmatic advice.
• Close collaboration with R&D teams to implement privacy by design in the development of new products and services.
• Experience assessing appropriate agreements to govern business relationships, (e.g., data processing agreements, joint controller agreements, and SCCs).
• Experience drafting and negotiating privacy and data security terms for contracts with third party vendors.
• Experience with data mapping and preparing detailed data privacy impact assessments and Article 30 records.
• Experience in managing and responding to data subject rights requests in a timely and efficient manner.

• AdTech or related industry experience

What will I be doing on a day to day basis?

As Taboola’s Privacy Counsel, you will:

• Provide legal advice on compliance with state, federal, and global privacy and data protection laws.
• Train and work with cross-functional stakeholders (including senior management, sales, R&D, marketing, and HR) to maintain Taboola’s culture of privacy and compliance.
• Review and develop privacy controls for uses of consumer and workforce data.
• Discuss technical privacy solutions with Taboola’s external partners and negotiate privacy terms.
• Support regulatory investigations and responses.
• Coordinate communication with relevant trade groups and complete annual compliance and certification reviews.
• Stay up-to-date on privacy developments and their application to Taboola.
