Today, when you go to your doctor and get referred to a specialist (e.g., for sleep apnea), your doctor sends out a referral and tells you, “They’ll be in touch soon.” So you wait. And wait. Sometimes days, weeks, or even months. Why? Because too often specialists and medical services are overwhelmed with referrals and the painstakingly manual process it takes to qualify your referral prevents them from getting around to it on time, or sometimes at all. Tennr prevents these delays and denials by making sure every referral gets where it needs to go, with the right info, at the right time. Powered by RaeLM™ Tennr reads, extracts, and acts on every piece of patient information so providers can capture more referrals, slash denials, and reduce delays.
Role DescriptionWe’re looking for a Product Manager to help build a prior auth manager for providers across the country - handling the supply chain of submission, status tracking, and appeal flows across the medical and pharmacy benefit routes. High-cost care typically requires a provider to get a prior auth from a patient’s insurance - without it, they struggle to get paid and patients struggle to get the care they need. This product’s success is foundational to reducing patient delays and denials.
As a Prior Auth PM, you will be accountable for defining the vision, strategy, and end-to-end execution of Tennr’s prior authorization product. This isn’t a “manage the roadmap” role—this is a “make it successful” role. You are expected to build a deep understanding of the problem space, identify the right problems, carve the path forward, and push the product from zero to one; then scale with clarity, urgency, and a deep sense of ownership over the outcomes.
You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, external operations, and internal product teams. You’ll build the largest database of payer submission routes across different mediums - forms, portals, and transactions. You’ll be the subject matter expert for all things prior auth - the person everyone turns to when it comes to for facilitating a successful submission and appeals process.
This is a highly operational role - perfect for someone with experience tech-enabling a supply chain. You should love digging into new technologies, be comfortable working with engineers on technical tradeoffs, and thrive in serving as the go-to person across teams.
ResponsibilitiesDefine and drive the success of Tennr’s prior authorization product - owning outcomes and impact, not just tasks and timelines.
Own the prior authorization roadmap by leading development of Tennr’s submission, tracking, and appeals capabilities across medical and pharmacy benefits.
Operationalize the submission pathways by standing up and maintaining integrations with UM vendors, clearinghouses, fax, and portal/RPA routes; manage the “supply chain” of forms and schemas’l
Tech-enable the prior auth supply chain by automating how forms, portals, and transactions are sourced, parsed, and maintained - turning fragmented payer requirements into reliable, programmable rails.
Implement robust tracking and automation by ensuring accurate status polling, time-stamping, and automated next steps for approvals, partials, and denials.
Drive design-partner success by guiding pilot customers through build-out, UAT, and go-live; measure and improve submission volume, turnaround time, and approval rates.
Set the bar for execution - maintaining a clear view of what “excellent” is while pushing the product toward commercial viability and scale - ensure that we are building something that will drive substantial value for our customers
3-5 years of product management experience, preferably in technical platforms, developer tools, or B2B SaaS
Proven ability to take ambiguous product ideas from concept to launch and from prototype to revenue
Operational depth: experience designing or tech-enabling multi-step supply chains - especially in document processing, RPA, or integration-heavy systems.

Excited by our mission, and genuine interest in unpacking and solving nuanced complexities in reimbursement, prior auth, and utilization management
Bias to action: Excited to move fast, test ideas, and refine through feedback.
