The Senior Vendor Manager – Print Category is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision for print-related products and services within the organization. This position is responsible for managing strategic vendor relationships within the print category, serving as a consultative partner to internal stakeholders, and acting as a Procurement ambassador across the enterprise. The role supports sourcing initiatives and contracts execution for the category, and ensures optimal vendor performance, cost efficiency, and compliance with organizational standards. The Senior Vendor Manager acts as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, driving innovation, quality, and compliance while meeting business objectives.

NOTE: This position will not perform the work but execute the strategy and vendor management of the functional category! You will have oversight of the program.

Category Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the print category aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and innovation in print solutions.
  • Vendor Relationship Management
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with print vendors and service providers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor negotiations, issue resolution, and performance reviews.
  • Contract Negotiation & Compliance
  • In partnership with sourcing and key stakeholders, negotiate pricing, terms, and service-level agreements to ensure competitive advantage.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and sustainability standards.
  • Performance Monitoring
  • Track vendor performance using KPIs such as quality, delivery timelines, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives when needed.
  • Financial Oversight
  • Deliver cost optimization initiatives.
  • Analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities and mitigate financial risks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Third Party Risk, Contracts, Sourcing, AP, Medicare Compliance, internal/external Auditors, and other teams across the enterprise to support business objectives.
  • Align print solutions with industry standards and operational requirements.
  • Innovation & Sustainability
  • Drive adoption of new technologies and sustainable practices in print production.
  • Evaluate emerging trends and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Procurement Ambassador
  • Advocate Procurement Best Practices
  • Promote adherence to procurement policies, processes, and compliance standards across the organization.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for print category and procurement guidelines & tools.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as a liaison between procurement and business units to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies.
  • Educate internal teams on procurement procedures and benefits.
  • Process Improvement
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in print category and procurement workflows and recommend improvements.
  • Support initiatives to streamline purchasing processes and enhance user experience.

Education & Communication

  • Educate business partners and suppliers on procurement systems and compliance.
  • Communicate updates on procurement policies, tools, and category strategies.
  • Supplier Relationship Support
  • Assist in fostering strong supplier partnerships by ensuring clear communication and compliance.
  • Support vendor onboarding and performance monitoring activities.
  • Data & Reporting
  • Monitor procurement metrics and compliance adherence.
  • Provide feedback and insights to procurement leadership for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years in vendor management, program management within the print category space, procurement, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing successful programs.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Print Production, or related field; and or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Print Production Expertise: Extensive knowledge of direct mail and print production specifications, processes, best practices, and materials, with the ability to assess vendor capabilities and ensure adherence to quality and performance standards. 
  • Technical Acumen: Demonstrated expertise in print technologies and production workflows, with a strong understanding of risk governance and compliance processes to ensure vendor performance and operational integrity.
  • Vendor Management & Program Oversight: Proven ability to manage multiple vendor relationships and with program oversight simultaneously, ensuring positive outcomes and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to thoroughly review and verify all aspects of vendor-related activities—such as contracts, pricing, service-level agreements, print specifications, and compliance documentation—to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify issues, assess vendor risks, and implement solutions that minimize impact on timelines and budgets.
  • Adaptability: Resilient and flexible in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to pivot strategies based on business needs and market conditions.

NOTE: This role is hybrid and you will report into an office 2 days a week (Tues & Wed).

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
