Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Hardware Engineering Lead to join our dynamic and diverse team environment in Orlando, FL. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of assigned features on a CDS system.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
This requisition is open as a dual level opportunity. We are open to hire at a level 3 or level 4.
Basic Qualifications:
- Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent and 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience
- Level 4: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent and 9 years of experience OR Master’s degree with 7 years of experience
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical design.
- Experience in schematic entry (familiarity with OrCAD Capture a plus).
- Experience with serial communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, RS232, USB, Ethernet, etc.).
- Demonstrated strong ability to move seamlessly between levels of abstraction – from system to the detailed implementation.
- Experience with system design interfacing to a wide array of electro-mechanical subsystems and debugging experience.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Develop test infrastructures, writing documentation and ensuring high performance.
- Hands-on building of electronics systems including use of hand tools (screw drivers, hex wrenches, drills, etc.), ESD protected electronics handling, 3U VPX circuit cards, etc.
- Experience using electrical design equipment (oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, etc.)
- Ability to maintain and maintain Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active in scope DoD Secret clearance or higher
- Experience with FPGAs, VHDL, microcontrollers, microprocessors and mixed-signal designs.
- Familiar with PCB layout design and best practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with Xilinx FPGA & Questa Advanced Functional Verification tools.
- Experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs, and the Vivado IDE.
Salary Range: $84,200.00 - $126,400.00Salary Range 2: $104,400.00 - $156,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
