About March Networks

March Networks is a global leader in intelligent video surveillance and business intelligence solutions. We support thousands of customers worldwide across retail, banking, transportation, and enterprise environments. As we continue to modernize our internal systems and customer-facing digital platforms, we are investing in scalable, secure, and future-ready web architectures.

Role Overview

March Networks is seeking a Principal Web Developer to lead the modernization of our web ecosystem. This role is responsible for architecting, building, and operating modern web platforms that replace and evolve legacy IT applications, corporate websites, ecommerce portals, partner portals, and CMS-driven experiences.

You will play a critical role in moving the organization from legacy platforms (e.g., .NET, WordPress) to modern JAMstack and composable architectures, leveraging platforms such as Vercel, Sanity.io, AWS, and best-in-class SaaS integrations. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with ownership across architecture, delivery, security, performance, and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Modernization

  • Define and own the web architecture strategy for March Networks’ internal and external web platforms.
  • Lead the upgrade and replacement of legacy web applications and websites, including .NET and WordPress-based systems.
  • Design and implement modern JAMstack and composable architectures, emphasizing scalability, performance, and security.
  • Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across CMS, ecommerce, portals, and custom applications.

Development & Delivery

  • Act as a hands-on technical contributor, building and reviewing production-grade code where appropriate.
  • Lead the implementation of solutions using modern frameworks and platforms (e.g., Vercel, Sanity.io, Next.js, APIs).
  • Ensure high-quality delivery through code reviews, architectural reviews, and technical mentorship.
  • Balance speed of delivery with long-term maintainability and operational excellence.

Platform Operations & Reliability

  • Own web platform operations, including performance, availability, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Partner with IT Security to ensure platforms align with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and secure-by-design principles.
  • Oversee CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and deployment workflows.
  • Ensure documentation, runbooks, and operational processes are in place and maintained.

Integration & Enterprise Systems

  • Design and oversee integrations with enterprise platforms such as AWS, Salesforce, Informatica (or similar data/integration tools), and other internal systems.
  • Collaborate with Data, Applications, and Security teams to ensure clean, reliable, and secure data flows.
  • Support headless and API-first approaches for content, commerce, and partner experiences.

Vendor & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Manage and coordinate external web development vendors and partners, ensuring quality, accountability, and alignment with architectural standards.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to business stakeholders, translating requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Influence roadmaps and investment decisions through strong technical judgment and clear communication.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in web development and architecture, with a strong focus on modern web platforms.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale web modernization or platform replacement initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of JAMstack, headless CMS, and composable architectures.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and tooling.
  • Experience designing and operating production systems on AWS.
  • Strong understanding of web security, performance optimization, and operational best practices.
  • Experience working with and guiding external development teams or agencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Vercel, Sanity.io, or similar modern web platforms.
  • Exposure to Salesforce, Informatica, or comparable enterprise SaaS and integration tools.
  • Experience in SaaS, enterprise IT, or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
  • Background in ecommerce, partner portals, or customer-facing enterprise platforms.

What Success Looks Like

  • Legacy web platforms are systematically modernized with minimal disruption.
  • March Networks operates a scalable, secure, and performant web ecosystem.
  • Web platforms are easier to evolve, integrate, and operate.
  • Internal teams and external partners align around clear architectural standards.
  • The organization moves faster without accumulating technical debt.
