About the Role:
At Gen, we power Digital Freedom through trusted consumer security products like Norton 360, Avast, and LifeLock. As Principal UX Designer, Design Systems, you will build and evolve the design system that supports in-product messaging and lifecycle experiences across these brands. This role sits at the intersection of product, marketing, brand, and engineering. You will ensure scalable, accessible, and visually cohesive experiences across platforms by aligning lifecycle and messaging components with Gen’s global Product Design System.
You will join the Customer Success and Lifecycle Design team within Marketing, Brand, and Communications, partnering closely with product and engineering to shape seamless email and in-product experiences — delivering the right message, in the right place, at the right time. Your work will directly influence how millions of users experience our products.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and evolve the CSMD Design System for in-product messaging and email in alignment with the global Product Design System
Contribute to multi-brand token architecture in partnership with platform design system teams
Partner closely with Product, Brand, and Engineering to deliver cohesive, brand-aligned experiences
Lead design critiques and elevate craft quality across the organization
Conduct end-to-end UI audits across macOS, iOS, Android, Windows, and email clients
Create documentation, contribution models, and tooling that enable adoption and scalability
Advocate for CSMD adoption with partners and senior leaders Leverage AI tools to enhance workflows and improve system efficiency
About you:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field preferred
Experience: 8+ years in UX or product design, including 4+ years in a dedicated design systems role.
Skills:
Strong portfolio demonstrating visual interface craft and scaled system thinking
Deep expertise in Figma including design systems, variables, and component libraries
Strong understanding of design system collaboration with engineering, tokenization, and component architecture
Confident communicator able to translate design value for non-design audiences
Data-informed decision maker

Comfortable navigating complexity in a fast-paced environment
