    Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Principal Transport Planner to join our established Transport Planning team in Bristol.

    You’ll lead on a diverse mix of development and infrastructure projects across both private and public sectors, supporting clients in residential, commercial, retail and energy. Our portfolio ranges from strategic new settlements through to smaller-scale landowner developments.

    The role will focus on leading transport planning and appraisal work, alongside playing a key role in client relationship management, project delivery and mentoring. You’ll provide strategic oversight across a broad range of development projects spanning the built environment, infrastructure and energy sectors, with opportunities to contribute to business development and team growth.

    The Role

    You’ll lead transport planning project delivery, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams:

    • Use professional judgement to develop effective and practical solutions
    • Deliver Vision-Led Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans
    • Build client relationships and support fee proposals
    • Lead client engagement with support from the wider team
    • Manage project performance and profitability
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policy, legal and technical changes
    • Mentor team members and provide technical guidance

    You’ll collaborate with colleagues across Planning, Environmental and Engineering disciplines on impactful projects, with opportunities to work across the UK as part of a wider national team.

    About You

    You’ll bring:

    • Extensive experience delivering UK transport planning projects within a consultancy or similar environment
    • Relevant degree (or higher) and professional membership (e.g. MCIHT or similar)
    • Strong project delivery, leadership and client management skills
    • Proven stakeholder engagement and client development ability
    • Technical expertise in transport planning and appraisal
    • Experience with JUNCTIONS and LINSIG (desirable)
    • Strong reporting and problem-solving skills
