Job Summary
Responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test plans for battery test systems. Collaborate closely with cross-functional Engineering teams to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of battery products. Responsibilities include developing test protocols, analyzing test data, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing technical insights to support product enhancement and cost optimization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive test protocols for battery systems, considering factors such as performance, durability, and safety.
- Conduct various tests on battery systems according to established protocols, including but not limited to charge-discharge cycling, and thermal performance testing.
- Analyze test data to evaluate battery performance and identify potential issues or areas for improvement. Utilize statistical tools and methodologies to draw meaningful conclusions from test results.
- Prepare detailed test reports documenting procedures, results, and analysis findings. Communicate findings to relevant stakeholders and provide recommendations for design enhancements or corrective actions.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure that battery products meet or exceed performance and safety standards. Participate in design reviews and risk assessments to address potential issues early in the development process.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to battery testing. Proactively identify opportunities to optimize test processes and enhance product performance.
- Lead a team of technicians to sustain the lab test system and processes.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Environmental Management System (EMS) as per ISO 14001:2015 requirements.
- Ensure environmental responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with organizational policies and applicable environmental regulations.
- Participate in environmental awareness and training programs.
- Identify and report potential environmental risks or nonconformities.
- Support continual improvement of environmental performance and compliance with EMS objectives.
- Take reasonable care for the environment and follow procedures to prevent pollution or harm.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline required (10+ years of work experience and/or Master’s and Ph.D. preferred).
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze process data and extract/summarize meaningful information by using JMP software.
- Demonstrated technical program management skills including meeting deadlines and milestones, as well as excellent communication skills such as summarizing data and writing reports.
- Willingness to travel as needed in the future.
- Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams to solve complex multi-disciplinary problems.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and 8D methodologies.
- Experience in testing of Li-Ion batteries highly desired.
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking ability with attention to detail.
- Proven track record of process integration in the scale-up of R&D processes to high-volume manufacturing.
- Good interpersonal skills.
