Principal - Technical Program Manager

Job Description SummaryThe Principal Technical Program Manager is a critical member of the Commercial DT team, focusing on GE Gas Power’s CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) and Configuration Front End (CFE) platforms. Responsibilities include providing product vision, roadmap, funding/pacing, and execution strategy; combining product management, business process understanding, application ownership, and cross-functional delivery leadership to ensure applications deliver measurable business value.
In this role, you will manage, coordinate and execute strategic initiatives utilizing technical, organizational and communication skills in support of our Commercial business. You will be the key link between business stakeholders, digital technology teams and end-users to define requirements, prioritize needs, translate requirements into scalable solutions, drive adoption, ensure performance, and continuous improvement.

• Own the program strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for CPQ, CFE and associated AI solutions aligned with Gas Power business priorities.
• Manage the overall program budget, including the identification of annual scope and budget requirements, as well as the monitoring of monthly budget pacing to ensure financial targets are met.
• Act as single point of contact for stakeholders, own stakeholder management and prioritization across single or multiple sub-businesses aligning with project management execution cycle, clear and proactive communication, governance, user adoption, lean product landscape, and value realization.
• Identify business needs, define requirements with clear business benefits, and translate them into actionable product features, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlogs.
• Ideate opportunities to automate manual processes while driving simplification, standardization, and operational rigor.
• Drive measurable business impact through scalable, user-focused digital solutions that improve decision-making, process effectiveness, and operational performance.
• Conduct rhythmic cadences for prioritization of requirements, enhancements, defects, and releases in partnership with functional, governance, and technical teams to ensure timely and effective delivery.
• Establish and monitor product and application performance metrics, user feedback, and support trends to identify improvement opportunities and guide continuous enhancement.
• Aligned with CPQ and CFE, partner on AI initiatives from ideation to development, deployment, and ongoing optimization.

Technical Expertise:

• Experience working in Agile / SAFe methodology.
• Experience with tools such as Oracle CPQ, Salesforce.com, ERP (SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise platforms).
• Expert proficiency in tools like ADO, SmartSheet, Miro, Excel, etc.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Commercial technologies to actively participate in buy vs build recommendations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical individuals.

Problem Solving:

• Demonstrate strategic expert-level skills in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.
• Lead or participate in problem solving workshops for process or productivity improvements.
• Demonstrate the initiative to explore alternative technologies and approaches to solving problems.
• Innovates and integrates new processes and/or technology to significantly add value to GE Vernova. Identifies how the cost of change weighs against the benefits and advises accordingly. Proactively learns new solutions and processes to address seemingly unanswerable problems.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or another STEM discipline, or equivalent experience/knowledge.
• Experience with Commercial business processes and technical solutions.
• Significant professional IT experience with demonstrated leadership in digital transformation.
• Self-Driven, autonomous, and can proactively identify and remove obstacles for organization with the ability to get the work done with minimal supervision
• Experience translating business requirements into technical deliverables and working with development teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional and multi-technical initiatives and influence stakeholders in matrixed organization.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing team members
• Experience with Agile product management practices, backlog management, and release planning. The SAFe agile certification at advantage.
• Highly effective communicator with experience in presenting and interacting with leadership.
• Hands-on understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of Lean methodologies, with experience applying them in complex, cross-functional IT environments.
