We are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to serve as the strategic execution engine for our enterprise data organization. In this role, you will orchestrate the delivery of a unified, multi-tenant data platform that serves as the central nervous system for the entire company.
You will lead the operational transition to a modern Data Lakehouse, navigating complex cross-company dependencies, rigorous information security requirements, and legacy system migrations. Partnering directly with engineering leadership and our Principal Architect, you will align the daily execution of a 45-person organization—including engineering managers and Staff-level ICs—to ensure we deliver our ambitious architectural vision on time, securely, and with zero disruption to critical business operations.
About the role
Strategic Program Execution: Drive the end-to-end delivery of the unified data ecosystem. Translate the architectural vision into a phased, actionable execution roadmap across a 45+ person engineering organization encompassing managers, Staff ICs, and external partners.
Data Ingestion & Platform Modernization: Own the execution strategy to modernize enterprise data ingestion. Drive the roadmap to transition from legacy ETL frameworks to scalable, high-velocity data processing platforms and compute-optimized pipelines.
Lakehouse & Snowflake Adoption: Orchestrate the transition to a modern Data Lakehouse (Snowflake-managed Iceberg on S3). Accelerate enterprise-wide Snowflake adoption by coordinating "cap and drain" migration phases that deprecate legacy silos with zero disruption to critical operations.
Data Sharing & Enablement: Lead initiatives to democratize data access securely. Drive the multi-tenant data mesh rollout, implementing delegated administration and RBAC to enable seamless, cross-company data sharing that strictly adheres to infosec and governance policies.
Data Products & MLOps Orchestration: Partner with product management and data science teams to accelerate the delivery of new data products. Manage the operational dependencies required to scale MLOps frameworks, bridging the gap between model experimentation and production deployment.
Cross-Domain Dependency Management: Act as the primary execution engine across organizational boundaries. Proactively identify, track, and resolve complex dependencies between upstream software engineering teams, data engineering, and downstream AI/ML consumers.
Agile Delivery & Operating Rhythm: Establish and refine the operating rhythm for the data organization. Partner with engineering managers to optimize capacity planning, sprint execution in Azure DevOps (ADO), and risk mitigation strategies.
About you
Experience: 10+ years in technical program management, specifically leading large-scale data platform deployments, cloud infrastructure migrations, or enterprise data product launches.
Technical Acumen: Deep foundational understanding of modern data ecosystems (Data Mesh, Snowflake, S3, Iceberg, MLOps, ELT pipelines) to effectively challenge engineering estimates, identify hidden technical risks, and prioritize technical debt.
Cross-Boundary Leadership: Proven ability to lead without authority and drive execution across complex organizational boundaries. Track record of partnering seamlessly with peer engineering directors, principal architects, product managers, legal, and infosec teams.
Exceptional Communication: Masterful ability to bridge the gap between engineering and the business. Capable of distilling complex technical challenges, architectural pivots, and schedule risks into clear, actionable updates for both highly technical engineering teams and non-technical business stakeholders (including VP and C-level executives).
