About the Role

To strengthen our technical leadership and long-term strategy, we are introducing an individual contributor role of Principal Technical Architect. This role is designed for a senior engineer who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to influence at a strategic level. The Principal Technical Architect will report directly to the CTO and serve as a key partner in shaping our architectural vision, evaluating emerging technologies, and guiding engineering teams through complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities:

Technical Strategy & Architecture

• Collaborate with the CTO to develop and communicate the company’s long-term technical and architectural roadmap.
• Ensure architectural consistency, scalability, and resilience across systems and teams.
• Review and advise on system design, infrastructure decisions, and technical tradeoffs for key initiatives.
• Provide technical input to strategic planning to the executive team who set the overall strategy.

Emerging Technology & Innovation

• Lead the research and evaluation of cutting-edge tools, frameworks, and platforms—particularly in the AI and MLOps landscape.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for innovation that align with business objectives and technical feasibility.

Engineering Support & Enablement

• Serve as a technical advisor and escalation point for engineering teams tackling complex architectural or performance challenges.
• Translate business requirements into clear actionable technical specifications and design
  

Coaching & Mentorship

• Encourage forming guilds in the technical arena to foster skill development, knowledge sharing, and professional growth within a community.  
• Provide on-demand, individualized coaching and technical mentorship for engineers at all experience levels. This personalized support will address specific skill gaps, guide career progression, and accelerate learning.
• Promote a culture of technical rigor by fostering consistent knowledge and experience sharing, encouraging open collaboration, and celebrating innovative problem-solving across all teams.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with product, platform, and research teams to ensure alignment between business goals and technical implementation.
• Help connect high-level technical strategy to day-to-day execution across multiple functions.
  

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership or advisory role.
  Proven success driving architecture and technical strategy at scale in a high-growth environment.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, modern cloud infrastructure, and AI/ML platforms.
  Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—able to clearly articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience navigating cross-functional alignment and driving impact through influence rather than authority.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in AI/ML infrastructure, MLOps, or data-intensive systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures (e.g., microservices, Kubernetes, IaC).
• Prior experience in a startup or high-growth tech company.

Salary Range: 200k-245k

The salary range provided reflects the estimated compensation for this role based on the expected qualifications and experience level. The final offer may vary depending on factors such as skills, experience, and alignment with role requirements.
