The Role

Principal Systems Development Engineer – (AI and Power Edge)

Bringing together hardware and software systems design, Root Cause Engineering operates at the very cutting edge of technology to meet those requirements. We design, develop, and troubleshoot electronic and electro-mechanical or systems-orientated products, conduct feasibility studies on engineering proposals and prepare installation, operation and maintenance specifications and instructions. We’re proud to deliver programs and products to the highest quality standards, on time and within budget. Join a dynamic and technically challenging design team designing and debugging the next generation AI and Power Edge Server hardware. This senior role requires demonstrated experience and strong technical expertise across the many technologies related to System design, PCB board design, and debug. The engineer leads continuous innovations on our Server platforms to keep them competitive while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

What you’ll achieve
As a Principal Systems Development Engineer, you will design, define and implement complex system requirements for customers and prepare studies and analyses of existing systems.
You will:

  • Be a technical leader driving continuous development and enhancements on AI and PE Server Hardware platforms. With work that is guided by operational and project objectives.

  • Enabling other engineers through sharing knowledge / mentoring.

  • Leader who can work with and lead other engineering development and validation functions to debug critical design issues.

  • Design, develop and implement cost effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment.

  • You must be a self-starter capable of managing multiple assignment and activities simultaneously.

Essential Requirements

  • Advanced understanding of system architecture

  • Deep knowledge of hardware and software interactions, and ability to apply this understanding to resolve issues

  • Oscilloscope – choosing probes, setting triggers

  • PCIe Analyzer – setting triggers


Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Engineering Degree (or equivalent) with 8 to 12 years of related experience

  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup

  • Capability to influence others to achieve results

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $140,250 - $181,500.
